The Internet connection is helpful for students who usually study with their own methods and understanding, especially today. Since the pandemic started in the Philippines, the Department of Education has given no choice but to give the students an opportunity to continue on their perspective levels either on modular or online class. Not all explanations in the learning module are explained thoroughly or they just couldn’t understand the lesson and this has become a disadvantage. By using the internet, they will be given a lot of choices, applications or websites that could provide information in different languages. A handy portal to research for outputs, printables and projects.
The Covid19 affected the lives of teachers and students. The teachers in public schools have to print modules overnight to provide continued learning and lessons to students. As teachers struggle with the new set up, the students also have difficulties in learning through self-learn, as well as time management. Though life is hard for the locals, finishing education is important and strives to provide the needs of their children but not all of them have enough resources.
Thankfully, the Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) launched a program named Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) that has allocated P21,980 for the funds.
The 20 students who have received the internet connection kits were elementary, high school and college scholars of the mining company and also belong to the indegenous people. The event happened on January 9, 2021. The Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation advised the students that they should not sell the internet kits to other students, that they have been chosen and must be for their own use.
The internet connection kit has a pocket wifi, sim card, and are ready to use. Pocket wifi is good. You can bring it anywhere you’ll go and it has a small size, which is very convenient for students. They can also go to free wifi spots in malls to lessen their expenses for buying loads.
We are hoping that these students will continue to study and reach their dreams and wouldn’t give up.
