
This is a different way to attract tourism and to empower women. As we hear, beauty pageant, we definitely think that the winner must have beauty and brains right? We judge them on how they present themselves on the spot and of course, with a pure heart.
Among the 60 contestants, only 20 left to compete for the crown. On January 30, the ladies will be in Astoria, Palawan to wear their National Costume. Meanwhile, the Swimsuit and Preliminary Interview will be held on February 13 in El Nido. The swim wear of the candidates will be provided by Ricky Abad, a famous fashion designer. The coronation night will take place in Puerto Princesa on February 27. The tickets for the coronation night cost P100-P200 pesos.

The candidate chosen to represent in Miss Universe for Palawan will win P50,000 and the winner of this pageant will be the representative for the Miss Earth-Philippines and Miss World-Philippines and take home the P25,000. The National Costume award winner will win P75,000, the Best Long Gown is P50,000 and the Special Award “GSMAXX Choice” will receive P100, 000. The cash prices are tax excluded.
Aside from the prices, three candidates will be crowned as Miss Palawan-Universe, Miss Palawan-Earth Philippines, and Miss Palawan-World titles.
This year, the Theme of Palawan’s Pageant is “Explore, Utopia and Beauty”. One of the advocacy is to promote Palawan’s Tourism and to support Palawan’s Charities. On the venue of the Coronation night in Puerto Princesa, there will be 7,000 persons over 15,000 seats who could watch inside the Coliseum. This is to follow the rules for the event from the Inter-Agency Task Force. The ticket sold costs P100-P200 each.
The Candidates are from the Municipalities of Province of Palawan. The candidates were Jirah Ayunan of Aborlan, Judy Ann Daguhoy of Agutaya, Louise Joy Gallardo for Araceli, Embrida Abia – Balabac, Arlene Joy Daganta – Bataraza, Angelika Paduga for Busuanga, Jamaica Venturillo for Cagayancillo, Mercy Grace Agustin for Culion, Angelica Lopez for Cuyo, Cherry Ann Balisacan for Dumaran, Daena Yapparcon for El Nido, Klaidel Hope Concepcion for Linapacan, Marie Paz Eleazar – Magsaysay, Antoinette De Peralta – Narra, Xenia Bunio- Puerto Princesa City, Normelyn Abrera for for Quezon, Joanna Marie Garcia for Rizal, Jaena Carandang for Roxas, Rocheanne Bongat for San Vicente, Jecris Dagsa for Sofronio Espanola, and Marie Victoria Torres of Taytay.
Many have been looking forward to the event, not only for Palaweños but also to other parts of the Philippines. Excitement overflows for every contestant, a big opportunity for them to share a glimpse of their municipality, culture and tourism at the same time. The Government of Palawan and organizers have spent their time to arrange and prepare for this.
