Based on the website's phase, the Linapacan Island is a must visit island in Palawan.

These 10 barangays namely, Barangonan (Iloc), Cabunlawan, Calibangbangan, Decabaitot, Maroyogroyog, Nangalao, New Culaylayan, Pical, San Miguel, and San Nicolas formerly belonged to Coron and separated to establish an independent municipality.

The Linapacan is a Cuyonon word that means “to step on” but there are rumors that the name was derived from a legend. They say that a beautiful woman was seen by Spanish missionaries walking along the beach and they asked who she was and answered Pacan. They discovered she was the wife of the chieftain and called her Reina Pacan and the word evolved into Linapacan.

So, what does Linapacan offer tourists and encourage them to come back once a while? The answer is simple, it's nature and the people. The nature that was totally preserved, protected and cherished by the local government with the help ofthe locals in the community Linapacan is rich in marine life and this is one of the major sources of the people to generate income for their daily needs.

The island is described as a paradise, nature on it’s finest. The white sand bar, the sun shining brightly at day time, the cold breeze from the waves, the stunning sunset, and a peaceful place that refreshes your body and soul.
