The Philippines is one of the countries who have struggled to fight this virus. The virus which was spreading in several countries around the globe has given negative effects on the physical and emotional state of a person. During the start of the quarantine, there are many people who have stepped down into their daily routines to follow the health protocols implemented by the government. For the past months, fighting for the survival and ending of the spread of the disease was the main priority of the government but there was no vaccine yet. In 2020, after several trials of the possible vaccine it was successfully developed.

The top priority for the first vaccinations are the elderly, pregnant women, indigenous people, vulnerable persons and the uniform personnel such as teachers, health workers, tourism, agriculture, food sectors, transportation and other essential workers.

The City government in COVID-19 vaccination (CoVac) has an aim to target 200,000 residents in the first within the next two quarters of 2021. There are three vaccination hubs namely Ospital Ng Palawan (ONP), Adventist Hospital Palawan (AHP), MMG-PPC Cooperative Hospital, ACE Medical Center Palawan, and Padre Pio Medical and Surgical Associates Inc. The city government had already signed a deal for AstraZeneca for 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. On Moderna, they were still looking for the positive feedback as they were hoping to deal 100,000 vaccines or more.

While AstraZeneca is a British–Swedish multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Cambridge, England. A company that focuses on major diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infection, respiratory and inflammation.

The vaccines that was purchased will directly land on the national government and pass them into the local government units and will be put in a cold storage by having a 20 degrees Celsius up to +8 degrees Celsius .Based on the plan in Coronavirus vaccination (CoVac) they will manage to work in 400 days non-stop to achieve their goals and that will take up to 75-100 persons per day must be vaccinated. They also found other ways to trace the individuals that were not available. The national government has been looking forward to the positive outcome for this step to finally set the virus go away.
